My 4104 was painted a maroon color so I assume it was sanded through the anodized coating in the prep. I want to go back to an original look, as much as possible. I am thinking about a metallic light silver to get the effect I want. Does anyone have any thoughts on something that would be a close match? Thanks Nelson |

PPG Paints has a color that fits your needs. I have seen two GMC's done with it and it's great. You'll have to look real close to tell it it's natural or painted.(Does she or doesn't she?, Only her paint man knows!) Cheers...JJ |

I just removed what JJ is talking about from my coach...it is so close to the original that we are going to do it again. Great looking finish. As I understand it, it is a two part finish...no clearcoat. Reason I removed was some flaking here and there where the prep apparently was not properly done. I did the removal myself....took about 5 gallons from the windows down..40 feet. Used Aircraft remover. FWIW RCB '64 Crown Supercoach (HWC) |

Thanks John and RC. You wouldn't have a name or a number for the actual color would you? Nelson |

Nelson, I painted my 4104 maroon, but I never sanded off all the anodize finish. That is a terrible amount of work. All it required was just a light scuffing to get the paint to stick. I used a metallic type aluminum for the bumpers and sides. but that was about 30 years ago before all the fancy new paints came on the market. Richard |
