Can someone please tell me the reason a miter box from a 6v92 will not work on a 8v92 the book shows two different boxes. Thanks for any info you can give |

I'd suppose that the different horsepower and torque require bigger gears for the 8V92 unit. |

James are you talking about a 'drop' or 'mitre' box? |

Since the 8V92 is longer than the 6V92, I would suspect that the mounting and/or the coupling is different to accommodate the length difference. The fan and AC loads should not be significantly higher. As far as the drop box is concerned, I think they were all the same including the Series 60 installation in the last couple of years of production. That's odd, I have a 1991 Eagle Model 15 with 6v92T and I do not have a drop box. I have an Allison HT746 directly coupled to the differential. |
