For skinning, Sikaflex 252 with primer is amazing. I've skinned an entire enclosed trailer with the stuff, no screws. Next up is my Bluebird this week. I get it from Rich at international bus parts rich@1800intlbus.com 800-468-5287 For caulking, Sikaflex 1A Urethane (from the construction trade) is great stuff. Flexible, paintable, sticks things together pretty darned well too.. Sunshine supply is a fairly decent supplier www.sunshinesupply.com/ Only a few bucks a tube. Clean it up and make nice beads using little pieces of "scrubs in a bucket" Speaking of "Scrubs in a bucket", the most astounding cleaner for hands, steel tubing (oily from the manufacturer) etc. I've come across. I buy em by the case from these guys for $71 http://www.shoplet.com/office/db/gSDYM3088.html For silicone, expensive but amazing, RTV167 At $24 per tube (that's toothpaste sized!) it ought to be amazing. It is. http://www.stanleysupplyservices.com/brand-leaf.aspx?brandid=595&categoryID=7&page=3 This stuff sticks better to more things, is tougher than any other silicone and is alcohol based so it doesn't stink or corrode things. Great for attaching glass to anything, and any job that regular junky caulking type silicone won't do. Just the stuff when you think "Gee I wish there was a decent enough silicone to do this with"... there is... Drilling, punching, ANYTHING to do with stainless, WESTLUBE cannot be beat. http://westlandproducts.com/pages/page.asp?s=735 Buy direct, pay the price and be amazed Pipe dope? I love "formula-8" manufactured by Fluoramics http://www.tufoil.com/industrial/formula8.html The manufacturer indicates this sealant is Non toxic, USDA approved for food processing, usable from -400 to +500f Inert to most chemicals except strong alkalais My favorite used to be a loctite teflon product that had some loctite mixed in... it was easy to assemble your pipe threads then it would lock itself. They don't apparently make that one anymore...too bad... Last, Spray paint. Rustoleum Red primer, the best stuff going for bare steel and keeping rust away while you're working on yo bus. I use it by the case. It's totally weldable too, welding over it won't mess up your beads with stink and yuck. Dries very quickly. And if you want to make something really black really fast, there's nothing like Krylon Ultra-Flat-Black spray. Dries instantly and makes engineering nightmares disappear in seconds!!
