I read here about a company that sold a system of building a shop that required few people to put up. It had no center posts. I did a search but can't find the link. Any one have a link to that site please?

Are you talking about the quansit hut style building? After the first panel is set up with help, the rest goes up pretty easy.Building is shaped like a half circle.American Steel Span Buildings is one of them. Or try "factory direct steel buildings" and sort through the offerings. They are pretty decent buildings in general if you don't have a problem with the looks. Some people do.

I looked into an American Steel building. They seem to offer sales late in the summer season, but that may not always be the case. They were esay to deal with over the phone, and thier buildings looked like a great option based on the research I did at the time. I happen to like the smooth industrial design of these buildings.

A farmer up the road from where I live put one up with no cement floor or end caps in several days, and he has all of his machinery stored in there. His is about 20' tall and 60'-70' long.

Boy, If I had some land I would have one for my bus and for living space.

There is a company that sells trusses called Miracle Truss. They have no center support, (clear span) and advertise on ebay constantly.
I though they were kind of pricey.

Ron, I have one that we put up about 15 years ago. It is 26x54 with 18 foot clear in the center. Great for kids half court basket ball. If you mean to insulate and heat look at a pole building. These do make a good shop except for not being able to make it usable in the extreme cold. There is a system to insulate them but it is not much. If you just want shelter for the coach, great.
Godspeed,
Michael
