Wish I could, but the "Great Southwest Adventure" is still a ways off in the future for this Ohio Buckeye.

I'm a 4104 guy too, love the old thing. Mine has needed a little help, but I really got pretty lucky. Please tell us more about what yours needed.

i had to buy two batteries
fix the starter
replace one of the air bags in the back passanger side
and i have some problems with it starting on its own i have to engage the starter manually and bridge the starter with a screw driver I say contact like the old planes since it is built like a plane with without wings sl that is the way to do it and its adicted to starting fluid i do not know whi i do not put alot just a tini bit almost nothing but after that runs go and it does not get hot or nothing
i love that noice and everything that cames with it .

gerardo,

Drop me an email with your phone number and I'll be sure to look up next Spring.

We take a trip in our 4104 every year to visit a friend in Green Valley and would like to stop by and talk buses.

This Spring took a 6300 mile trip via Tucson up through CA to Seattle and back to Arkansas and never saw one 4104 or any other GMC bus, all we saw was MCIs.

With that s/n your 4104 is surely a very late model.

Gerardo,

There is a four switch panel high in the rear right upper side of the engine firewall. These switches are for mechanics to use so they don't have to walk back and forth to the front of the bus.

The switch second from the left is a "Engine Start" switch. The "Engine Run" switch at the front instrument panel must be On for this to work. If it doesn't work read below.

The switch on the right side of the four is the "starter cut out" switch and may be in the "Off" position. Try moving it to the opposite position and your starter switches in front and back may work. This switch is to keep anyone from starting the engine while a mechanic is working on it.

The second switch from the right is the "Engine Stop" switch and is a real trouble maker. If you ever hit this switch by accident the following will happen;
The engine will start as usual.
The engine will stop in a short time as air pressure builds up to a few pounds.
After a couple of minutes the engine will again start up as usual and stop again.
This will keep up indefinitely.

Don't ask me how I know about this switch!!

The first switch on the left is to turn on the engine bay lights. All of these lights are usually broken out or missing.

Casper,

Try to find a Driver's Manual. It is a little thing but has a bunch of good stuff not found in the Maint. Manual.

I think I found mine on ebay but not sure.
