Hi Ian and Folks:

Ian, you hit the nail on the head. The folks on both sides of this "Longest Unprotected Border in the World", are truly Blessed!!!!

Our two countries have been Allies, almost forever!!!!

In the early 60's, I made my first trip to Canada. As a young man, I was awed by the fact that I was going to another Country. After crossing the border and heading into Montreal I saw Coke signs, Fords, Chevies etc. etc. I said to the bus driver on the tour, heck, this is no different than home!!!! And it wasn't and the People of Canada were Wonderful!!!

In these difficult times, where so much of the World is in turmoil, we should Daily give Thanks for the Freedoms that we all do have. So often I think we "Take it for Granted"!!!! And we should not, in my opinion.

I constantly talk to folks who are so unhappy Here in, or with, the U.S., and I ask if there is another place in the World today where they think they might be Happier!!!! I haven't had a positive response or sugestion yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to ALL of our Candian and American Helpers on this wonderful site and Thank You Ian for Making it Possible.

And Most IMPORTANTLY:

Happy & SAFE!!! Bussin' to ALL this Holiday Weekend and Always!!!

There is no greater friend than our neighbors to the north. When the American Embassy was seized in Iran many Americans were afforded safe passage out of that country with Canadian passports issued by Canada's Embassy. Something I will never forget.

I still fly the Canadian flag on my flag pole with Ole Glory.
Happy Birthday Canada!! Eh!

Boy, I sure could think of worse countries to live in. I feel fortunate to live here and I'm sure I would feel fortunate to live in ol' Canada too...especailly 'cause you guys have your health care system figured out-we're still working on that down here. Where else in the world can an average guy say, "wow, I think I'd like to buy me a bus to drive around...." and be able to do it without too much hassle. That says a lot right there!
Happy and safe 1st and 4th too all!
Hank
