Kristine,

I highly recommend you go to

http://escapees.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x

and jump into their discussion forums. They are a great group to learn from and have threads for fultimers, future fulltimers, big rigs, bus conversions, etc, and everything about the RV lifestyle.

This sounds trite, but I got a great recipe for fried "red" tomatoes from one of their discussion groups. Those folks discuss just about everything.

Woodalls has been the RVrs mainstay for years. It's up-to-date,
but it won't tell you where your bus conversion will not be accepted.
Actually, there isn't any "guide" that will reveal what the campground
owners will frown upon. An unfinished bus is usually not received
well at most commercial RV "resorts"
(nor are old (10 years or more) rvs).

We've managed to find the campgrounds that Woodalls and
the rest, haven't mentioned. Off the beaten path, and behind
gas stations, the campsites are great... and inexpensive. State
parks, city, county, and corps of engineer parks, all will accept
any type of camper. They're usually much less expensive
than the commercial campgrounds, and lack the amenities,
but can be great otherwise.

We "full-timed" in our driveway for quite a long time before
going on the road. I strongly suggest you give that a whirl!
You can work out the bugs, and the aggravations, until you
decide if it's going to cost you your relationship (or not). At
least you won't be 10,000 miles from no-where, without
"mad money" to get you back without your partner...

Think of the trip you're about to take as an experience in life.
You're going to learn to enjoy things as they happen, good
or bad... Take it as it comes.

You only get one chance at life.... take as much from it as
you can.

Enjoy!

Hi John, thank you so much for your post!

WHat is a Corp of ENgineers park?

"You only get one chance at life.... " its the way i live, not reckless jsut aware that you have to make the most of every day. never wanted the typical house ( not that its bad, just not for me)and all that this is my "way" just gotta learn the ropes.

thanx for the info and happy 4th! :p

kristine -

corps of engineer parks

Or more specifically: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Recreation Areas

They are about the cleanest, safest and most inexpensive
parks around. The county parks are the next in line....

Does that help?

Kristine, I posted this on another board for you but will put it here for the benefit of those readers on this board (as well as for you). One of the most comprehensive lists of general information I have found.
