I have been leaning to the basement AC that ronthebusnut.com has. Reading some of the latest threads, I need more info on spilt AC.

Prevost H3-40 with 6" roof raise.

Have room for anything in bays. Can mount air handler in roof above closets and/or cabinets.

Where can I get info on, install, and pricing of split units?

Thanks, David

If you are going to use the basement ACs that RonTheBusnut sells, ask him to send you the installation manual. This will give you all the specifications on duct size, wiring requirements, etc. We did this and installed all ducts per factory recommendations. Our AC works great and we have had no problems with inadequate cooling. Be suire to mount the thermostat on an internal wall. If mounted on the inside of the bus skin it will pick up heat from the skin and overcool. Hope this helps, Jack

Type in the url mini-split air cond and also check ebay listings, the last time I looked there were a couple of people that had all the specs on their mini-splits.

I shopped on the internet and on ebay for a long time trying to make up my mind what to do, then one guy had some close out mini-splits, 12,000 BTU,3200 watts total for $300 ea.
So I bought 2 of them. They came precharged with freon, complete hook-up instructions for the electric and the tubing.

Looked simple to me, but then I'm an electrician and have been to A/C refrigeration school.
