Guys,

This is Steve from Sika. I have something that I could use your advice on. I drive kids to Upper Peninsula Bible Camp in Michigan. We have a small fleet of buses. Unfortunately, the fleet began to shrink considerably last week. We have an immediate need to sell two 1971 4107's. One hasn't been started for about 5 years and was used for some parts from the other one, but has not been very cannibalized. The other blew a piston or something last week with a full load. We have decided to retire both of these loyal steeds and I'm trying to find out how to sell them and about what they might be worth. If you guys could give me some idea of value I'd appreciate it. Of course, we'll then post it on the for sale section here as well.

a bus that doesn't run is worth less than scrap metal price,if you chop it to small pieces, you can get scrap metal price

Did your bus breakdown at Gaylord? I saw a 4107 hooked to a wreaker as I was transporting boys back to our church in Charlotte after 4 days of camping.

That was it.

I missed all the fun cause I stayed home that trip.

As I heard, the State Police contacted a church in Gaylord with a bus and they were gracious enough to drive the kids the rest of the way to camp.

You say you are from SIKA, where is that or what does it stand for? Where are the busses located at? A friend in Cadillac is interested.

Larry,

Thanks for the help. If you'd like to, please e-mail me at padgett.steve@sika-corp.com.

Sika is the manufacturer of Sikaflex sealants and adhesives. A lot of busnuts use our products to seal and bond new skin on conversions.

The broken bus is in Gaylord. The other one is in Livonia area.
