you can do all sorts of things. if you like, i can take a look at it and sketch out some things, i'm in your neighborhood, you can always fire it up and meet me somewhere neutral. the parking lot at wall mart in hawks prarie is 15 minutes from me, and you can get in and out of there blindfolded, and the hawks prarie inn parking lot is even easier. of course, the place cafe/top foods/safeway on the west side or even value village's parking lot are all much easier for me ... or look at a bunch of sailboat interiors. *shrug* -dd |

Scott Whitney did a very nice conversion on his transit Flx: http://www.dustyfoot.com/index2.html I haven't seen him post much lately, but his site is great. The late great James Maxwell also did his, if you check the archives on this BBS. Another good resource is a Fishbowl conversion, never finished and now sold, here: http://www.metamorphobus.com/ HTH, bb |

Kristine I bought our GMC transit 22 years ago and needed storage. As you know transits don't have bays like the highway coaches so with my fuel tank being behind the centre door I had all this space underneath behind the front axle. I put in a floor at the bottom of the body skirting and cut 2 doors on each side between the ribs. I have 3 compartments about 36" wide x 48" deep x 17" high and the 4th one is for the generator. I have never had a problem in all these years with weakening the body. Just stay below the floor line and you can do almost anything. Bill |
