Has anyone used a product called POR-15 (web site - por15.com/)? The manufacture says it will stop rust permanently. I want to paint the battery tray and frame.

Por-15 is a real good product but expensive. I used roofing tar thined with paint thinner. Painted on a good heavy coat 5 years ago and it is staying there like under coating You can touch it up with spray cans of under coating to keep it looking like new.

William- POR-15 is excellent and well suited to your task. Clean the metal just like you would for painting with regular paint, including Metal-Prep, (DuPont trade name for phosphoric acid). Follow their included directions and it will last about forever. Price is about $20 per pint but it seems to cover well and goes a long ways.

On your recommendation I have purchased POR-15 and should have it next week. Thanks for the feed back and happy busing.
