Another stupid newbie question, but I have started roughing out a layout for the interior of my shop bus and was wondering if anyone knew of any clipart libraries with images scaled specifically for coach interiors?
I'm using Corel 10.
Thanks
Tom

Thomas - that is a good idea. It would be nice to have a collection of raw shell floor plans and some interior items to play "paper dolls" with. I have seen a few people post things, but no such collection. Maybe this will start something.

I'm a bit surprised that my 'net searches keep turning up empty on this, and I figured that if such a beast existed, someone here should know!
Thanks for the encouragement,

Tom

you could always do it the old fashioned way.get some butcher paper & 1"=1' draw a 40 inch bus.make a 5 inch sofa,& a 3 inch shower & 3 inch ref.if something like the bed is 6 foot, make a 6 inch one, move stuff around till you are happy, mainly,'I' think the plumbing should all go over the rear bay, but, that's just my opinion

Tom,
I think a fellow by the name of Ben Rosander has some form of what you are looking for. I saw it in book form, though, at the bussin usa in Rickreal a couple of weeks ago. Somebody here probably has his contact info. He was one of the vendors at the rally. Some of his books are avail on CD

Bob,

That's a great idea in itself, I don't know why I didn't think about it. Butcher paper models! My Mom used to create dress patterns like that....

From what I am beginning to see, you're right about the plumbing too, but I haven't even begun to tackle mechanical layout.

Thanks
Tom

I drilled 1/8" holes in the back bay & stuck pipe cleaners up,so I'd know where the holes had to be for tolet, shower& sink drains,do the drain lines first, they all need to run downhill to the tank, pressure lines can bend any direction & run them on the roof of the back bay
get some colored paper for your apliances & write ref. & couch & shower on them after you get them cut the correct size,if the ref. sticks out from the wall 30",make the paper 2 1/2 "

I use AutoCAD for drawing plans to scale. There's a bunch of cheaper/easier CAD packages out there, though. A vector program like Corel might not be the best for scaled drawing, but I haven't used it in years.

Anyways, you might try some of the high-end converters for plans and icons. Even "sticks-n-staples" manuf. might have some good plans and ideas. You can take JPGs off of their sites and convert them to vector art and get them scaled close-enough.

Thanks Bob, I'll remember the pipe cleaner trick when I actually get to lay this out in a bus. I'm sure I will have a million questions on plumbing alone. Brian, I have AutoCAD as well but just set my rough layout drawing up on Corel for speed. Planned to use it to produce more detailed drawings, but thought Corel might be quicker for the roughs. Been clipping from every good design I see, but consistency is not very great.

Thanks for the good ideas,

Tom
