I have a 8 v 71 in a 82 mci. I'm wondering what is the hottest injector That I can safely use in this engine and not worry about overhearing? Marc

I can't help you with the injectors, but if you don't get a satisfactory answer, go to this website and ask the question: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/DetroitDiesel/
Someone there can tell you what works.
It's doubtful you'd add much to overheating the engine because of the injectors..unless your coolings system is marginal. You can overheat it now in hills and such. Watch the guage temps, watch the exhaust and don't make a lot of black smoke. Install an alarmastat on both cyl heads and monitor the temps audibly. Be prepared to have the poo scared out of you when the 'stats go off! Maybe use a chime on it or some soothing sound device?
Cheers, JR
