Does any one out there have any information on this unit? Such as Operating Manual, Service and Parts Manual or general history concerning this 35ft. rear gas pusher. A number of these units were sold to the Canadian Navy including this one in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.in 1952. I have tried to obtain information from Prevost, Canada, St, Claire, Quebec on a number of occasions to no avail. Hope someone out there can help me. Thank you in advance.

Hi bud. I wish I could help you,but I also have wanted to find out more about my 63 prevost.Mine is a 1963,36 ft,2 axel.It looks a lot like a Champion. It has the same windows.I have the 8V71,with a 6 speed spicer manual trans.I think it is the original engine, but the trans was changed from a 4 speed,by the previous owner. It was converted when I got it,but have made some changes inside.I really upgraded it too.The coach was originally owned by the University of Edmonton in Alberta.A fellow in Edmonton, bought it around 1976,& did the conversion. He did a very good job,but with dark cabinets.Thats allright, because I have changed the flooring & carpet, which lightened it up.The last project was where I changed the full size bed to a queensize. The head of the bed is on the drivers side now.I had to remove an upper & lower cabinet to accomplish this.It turned out very nice. Now I cannot match the old headliner,& will have to replace the whole thing, front to back.It will be nice to get that old carpet off the ceiling, anyway.I have done so many things to it ,I could go on & on.I would love to here from you, bud.I want to know what you have done to yours. What does it look like ?,etc Your truly,Doug Kinswater,Las Vegas,Nv.

Try McGinnis Coach Lines in Picton, Ontario. I don't know if they are still in business, but when I was in high school they had a beautiful 53 Prevost which we often rode to Toronto in on school trips. That was over 30 years ago, but I believe it was still in use well after I graduated from High School. Being a small company they have kept the records around.

I think this Prevost (the '53) may have had a Buick engine.

In my previous e-mail I stated the bus company kept the records. I somehow omitted the word "may" (may have kept). Sorry for this error.

I would really like to see a photo of this bus. When I was a kid in Sherbrooke Quebec, the city transit system used Prevost city coaches exclusively. There were even a few suburban models of these coaches with a front door only. I think these coaches ran until the mid 60's after a rebuild.

I saw these Prevosts in a few other Quebec cities, but was too young to remember where. I now live in Vancouver BC, and there were five early 70's Prevost city coaches with standard transmisions running up the long hill to Simon Fraser University. They are long gone now, but were a really unusual looking transit.

I'm looking for a photograph. I'll try and post it if I find it.
