We are about to take the bus, one transmission lid and seal, one oil change to straight 40, and one paint job (just primer, but MUCH better than the tricolor chipped job) later. We will be off to Buffalo from Norwich (You'd need a map) and taking 81 north of Binghamton and then 90 west to Buffalo through Syracuse. We will be without internet, without all connection to civilization as this is the first living in the bus ON THE ROAD. We have enjoyed it's comforts parked here on the hill, and now we hope and pray for the best as we go bussin' for real. We were really sweating bullets about the tranny yesterday as it was still leaking from one bolt, after he had fixed the other one ( the oil filter is attached to the lid through three of the bolts. 2 leaked. Ultimately, the Cuban decided to just move the oil filter, bolted it next to but not ON the cover, and...it stopped leaking. Yaay! I hope for good weather and a happier bus...We'll report back in a month after we finish our shows! Thanks again to everyone who has given us so much helpful information. Thanks again to Luke at U.S. Coach, who has the contacts to order seals for an obsolete vs-28 cover, and the little copper washers, and who told us where to find the oil filter (under the fan!) |

FWIW, have a safe trip and I noticed you mentioned copper washers! I was in Harbor Freight yesterday and saw that they had an assortment of different sizes of copper Flat washers in a plastic storage box. Not sure if this is anything anyone could use but I have seen other post here and over there that ask for them. Might be something to carry along in the bus! Ace |
