to help promote my real estate business. I have thought of a few ideas to draw attention to our real estate business such as driving around town with signs attached. Another is the idea of parking in a big parking lot and using signs to draw in folks to pre-qualify for home puschases. You guys are way more creative than me so I am throwing this out there for your help: What are your ideas for using my bus to draw in more real estate listing and buyers??? | ||

Save yourself a lot of headaches. If you put a sign on it then it's commercial. Then you get zoning and code enforcement looking in your direction and trying to make an example out of you for the free money.... People will provide graffiti free of charge and mess with it unattended. Of course that depends on where you are. Sorry, I guess I am in a bad mood lately. This having to hide in plain sight is a little nerve racking at times.  | ||

Take it to fairs, festivals, etc. to promote your business. Set it up as a booth site and draw people in... I've worked lots of large festivals, people will come in if you have something unique. | ||

Offer Home Tours of the New home subdivisions in your area. Give tours of 2 or 3 favorite scenic sights that are very close to your home base. Get a vinyl wrap with graphics to cover the 'curb' side and slowly criuse that area. After a local school game - have the kids paint the sides with 'We Won' or 'Tigers Rock' or ?, then meet them all at a common place and buy the group 'Shakes' or 'Smoothies' or whatever. Do not wrap it. If you do, it becomes commercial which means rediculous insurance premiums, CDL, hastles from the MAN, etc, etc. Do whatever you want after you park, but while it's on a public road, make sure it looks, smells and acts like an RV. You can still take clients around the neighborhood....no law against taking your friends for a ride. | ||

Vehicle Wraps: Does anyone out there in Bus Land have a source for the material used for making these signs. I am in the process of painting my bus and was thinking that I could possibly run some of the graphics thru one of my windows. A websight or co name would be of great help. Thanks So Much. Hello Greg, I'm also thinking the same thing. I'm going to have banners printed and hang it on both sides of our coach. We will be in 3 different parades this fall in 3 local towns that we service. So, on weekends I don't think any insurance Co. will care. Perades are very high profile...& good for busisness.. Nick- | ||

Actually, the quote I got was $12,500 for an MC9. The other party involved was not willing to part with nearly that much cash, so I didn't go any further than that. Why are you looking for blank material? Do you know someone with the printing equipment? I saw this on the discovery channel. The printer had to have been 12 feet wide. essentially just a massive inkjet printer. Ross | ||

ROSS: I am in the process of painting my Bus. Some of the graphics run thru the bedroom windows. I saw this material used on a new bus over the bdr. window and it looked great having the design pass over the glass. The material is black on the back (adhesive side) and has small holes evenly spaced thruout allowing you to be able to see out thru it. Me a little crazy, maybe. If I wasn't I wouldn't be working on this bus everyday. ARTHUR | ||

ROSS: sorry @ ad on. The bus that I saw looked to have been sprayed with the same body colors clear and all. It would have to be done off the bus, allowed to dry well, the backing sheet removed, float it into position with soapy water, and then squigee the excess water out. I think this might work as long as the base-clear paints are compatable, which I think would be with a little flex additive in the paints. ?????? ARTHUR | ||

Try sign warehouse, They have the translucent and the pinhole material in bulk rolls. Used for vinyl wraps and signs over glass that you can see out of. | ||

I would think a tasteful advertisment on the side would be good. You could use it as a mobile office, which would be excellent for open houses and the like. It's a huge indication of which house the open house is at. It would also be a very comfortable way to bring people to various houses. If you got a wireless internet service, you could have people looking at listings on computer(s) in the bus while driving between places. Others posts are probably correct, it would now be a commercial vehicle. CDL and/or chauffers license would be required, along with other stuff I'm sure. I'm not sure I'd waste it just parking it, but when you do park it in between trips touring clients around, it would still be an obvious advertisment for your company. |
