Just a few miles north of Yuma on 95 is a BLM land option. Just turn at the VFW hall and into the BLM land.

There are thousands of acres of BLM land all over the area from which to choose, North, west, and East of Yuma.

There are a couple LTVA's (Long Term Visitors Area) if you want to park in one spot for the whole season (or part of it).

Although there is BLM near, the area around Oglible Rd and Sidewinder Rd where many of us parked because it is patended land where we were not kicked off of it, has been sold (at least it was in escrow) so if you hear of it, it may not be available this coming season!

If you boondock a lot may I recommend the 2006 version of Delorme Topo 6.0, with GPS. New with this version is BLM and other GOV land - real nice!

Check out Mitrie Lake. Turn North off 95 on Avenue 7E (Laguna Dam Road) and follow road to the end of the blacktop....and keep going. A great place in the brush or on the hill. 10 days only....

We squat a month or two on the reservation, just west of Yuma. Exit Algodones, right. Sometimes they ask you to buy a fishing license, and then you can stay all winter, $45.00 per person. We've been there two winters, Jan - Apr. Not had to pay yet!
