Dave Galey’s “The bus converters bible” is a good place to start. The article on generators is available for free viewing this month on the BNO site. The other sections of the book come up during the other months of the year. This book covers all the basic stuff. Many of the conversion skills are very similar to the methods used to build a house. Another good place to look is at commercial RV’s. You can get many ideas from looking at the floor plans and seeing what kind of equipment they are using. Most bus nuts like to do things there own way but the big RV companies have many engineers and interior decorators that can really do a nice job on the interior look of the RV. See how they do it and use what you like of it or add something different. Like the old saying goes why reinvent the wheel. Go slow on the planning stages of the project design. You don’t want to get frustrated and freak out into the project. Many bus conversion projects are never finished because people try to do too much to fast and become overloaded. Take your time with the floor plan and system design and work on one part at a time so you don’t fry yourself out. Good luck and what ever you do have fun with the hobby |
