The Eagle has been sitting for some time, without out moving it. Last week end I took it off the blocks and move it back and forth about 40 feet each way several times. This week end I started it but can not get the parking brake to release. The 89 Eaglee does have an emergency parking brake release button. When I push the emergency parking release button down and hold it, the spring brakes release and I can move the Eagle. Where do it start looking for the problem on why the parking brake does not release the normal way. Any help you can provde is welcomed.

Thank

Duane

after pushing the button, are you waiting for it to get back to 110 & pressing hard on the brake pedal for 15 to 20 seconds..if you are doing this ,keep doing it over & over, they will finally release ,might take 10 or so times

Are you saying that the release button won't stay in? Assuming you have plenty of air pressure, it sounds like a bad SR-1 spring brake valve.

Also, sometimes the "S" cam will stick if not properly greased and the brake shoes are worn. Just keep stepping on the brake pedal until it gives. If the SR1 is stuck replace it. In an emergency you can disassemble the SR1 and lubricate it a little until you can buy a new one. But it must be replaced if you can confirm that it sticks.

Have you tried to pull up on the brake pedal? I have had that problem with my NJT Eagle.

Bob, yes i do let it build up air till 120 lbs still does not release.

Len no the release button will stay in, but still does not release. What I dont understand is everything works fine if I use the emergency release button and hold it in,, even the brakes work.

James I will try taking the parking brake valve apart and see if that works.

Art I will try pulling up in the brake this coming weekend.

Thanks Duane
