Does any one know whitch gass charged bay door supports work well on the 4104, also on the engine compartment door?

I was going to change differential oil, would 85-140 GL5 the type to refil with?

I just installed gas springs on my large bay doors of my 4106. I used part# H 9504-150 which I got from International Bus & Parts. Phone 1-800-468-5287 and ask for Rich. I would like to install them on my engine door but I don't know the pressure rating. By the way the 150 in the part number is the pressure.

FYI, Rich is no longer at IBP. He is in Tennessee with Prevost now. Here is a link to the last post of his that I have seen:

Larry,

I installed air springs from an '88 Dodge mini van hatch on my 4104 engine door, fit perfectly into the old support mounts. I happened to have two used ones on hand and tried them just for kicks-amazing! How many times will this happen? You can buy these things almost anywhere. I think I got mine at WalMart for $15-20 apiece.

I have to push to close it, one almost holds it up.

My only complaint is that the door is not high enough to lift over my head but neither was the original.

Do your baggage doors lift up to the same angle as with the original supports?

What are the bolt to bolt center closed and open measurements on your baggage door air springs? I would like to support mine also.

Also where are the springs mounted in inches from the door top?

These measurements would save me a lot of time experimenting.
