Since it's new, that means it still has the factory board in it. While the problem may be something else, the factory boards were very unreliable.

You didn't name the symptoms that you got when you tried to start it, so it will take more information to know just what happened.

Was there no response, did the fan run, did you hear a spark or a clank from the gas valve?

If the board is bad and the factory doesn't furnish a replacement, try a Dinosaur board. They are much more reliable.

Good luck with your heater.

Check your voltage and ensure it is right up. If it is low, the fan will run, but it will not light. The sail switch must be engaged........been there, done that.

Thanks Tom and Jim, Had the OEM board checked out ,it was fine so I looked at all the switches, all were fine so I tryed it again but I jumped the thermostat at the furnace and it ran fine. I'm thinking maybe the generic Home Depot thermostat may be the culprit so I bought a Suburban stat today. Will tell you how I made out. Thanks very much for the help.
