Have a line on a near new Cat 3126 c/w an Allison 2000 series automatic transmission. 77,000 km (46,000 miles for you 'Mericans) total since new. Plan to put it in a 35' MCI 96. 230 hp vs 135 on the old 4-71 Detroit, 5spd electronic automatic, power steering and over the road air con plus tons of other bits and pieces. Is this a practical power train for a 27,000 pound GVW coach. Any comments appreciated! |

Thanks Jim, have two ideas for the rad/aftercooler. One choice is to mount in the original position above the engine (coach has a roof scoop and ducting) using a hydraulic fan. The more likely is a side mount near the original battery position with hydraulic or miter box drive on the fan. Will send you the serial no. by e-mail |
