Newby here. I'd like to first complement this site and the people that use it. Have always found the answers to my questins just by searching. But not this question. Reading many posts and visiting many personal websites, people are mentioning extending the back of their bus. Why extend the back ? Also, what do you do with the hollow space above the engine compartment after raising the roof? |

The hollow space above my engine (where I removed the A/C) is 6' wide by 4' high and 2' deep and is going to make a nice closet. I fiberglassed in the areas that held louvers. It used to be exposed, through the louvers, now it is inside the coach. Ed. |

On my mci-8 about the same as a 9 I extended the rear 2 ft. This was so I could install a series 60 and left the drive shaft distance the same. After removing the blower & radiators this gave me the entire king sized bed over the engine. Ray |
