Carl, I am sure it is the same or similar to an MC-8 and this is how I did it on my MC-8. There are four bolts that hold the tank to the bus. Two are visible , one on each side holding a stainless strap to a bracket on the body of the bus. The other two are hidden and you have to remove the fiberglass cover to access them. Remove all hoses and pipes and after you disconnect the "poop shute" it will come out. I assume you are not replacing it with another, and so if you cannot easily seperate the "poop shute" from the potty, I used a die grinder with a cut-off wheel and made a cut all around the pipe about 3 inches down from the top. Sure saved all the fun getting those little bolts out!!! Peter. |

Carl: Peter is right -- 4 bolts. The two forward facing bolts will be tough to find until you remove the fiberglass covering. Then it's pretty simple from there. As mentioned, disconnect everything top side first -- and by all means ... empty and clean it first (I know that sounds like a 'Duh' answer, but you'd be surprised). Wear gloves in case you get sharp edges and a cut, especially with that area! Last but not least. There was a post (I believe on this board) regarding the removal of the potty, that I think was much funnier. It went something like this. *Take one grenade, pull pin, drop in potty, run like hell. Patch one large hole and you are done. FWIW, Jerry H. |
