thoght i would start out by saying a belated merry christmas and happy new year to everyone.i haven't been able to keep up with the board much recently with remodeling the new house then moving the family from nc to tn the week before xmas.we left eastern nc(after visiting the in-laws and outlaws for the holiday)on new years eve and headed to bradenton fl to pick up our bus that we purchased back in august.we left on the 2nd headed back up i75 to i10 to 231 to i65 & home to nashville. the bus is everything i had hoped for and more.the second day of the trip i did almost catch the bus on fire after refueling in alabama,i forgot to release the emergency brake!!!other than the fact that the bus had just had a oil change that was refilled with rotella 15-40-ughhhh!!!used a gallon of it,i then added a gal of rotella 40wt which stopped the leaking .run excellent!!!!i am trying to think of an excuse to give the wife so i can take out for another cruise could babble on and on in my ecstacy, but i guess i will go for now good luck and happy bussin' to all........... |

Your very close, My daughter just moved from bell rd in some apt. to lavergne where she just bought a house. And yes I am a musician/comedian pursuing the latter. I just hired an entertainment consultant to help me make all the right moves to get me out of this rut I've been in and help me boost my career to a new level. You can phone any time I'm up late and as of lately up early also. Would be glad to hear from you |

Congrats on the NEW/OLD Bus purchase...
I am also new to this bus thing and live just a little west of you in Oakland TN. (close to Memphis)
Our first long-ish bus trip was up to your neck of the woods to the Shelbyville area. I run sound for a local singer/songwriter and we did a private gig up there.

austin,thanks for the offer,i was just telling my wife last night that we should go to memphis on the bus sometime.we have never been to graceland, and would like to check it sometime this spring. |

Graceland did have RV/bus parking the last time I checked. (but it has been a few years)
A great place to stop on your way would be the Casey Jones Restaurant in Jackson Tn. (Exit 82 I think) It's the place we stopped in the video, and one of our favorite stops when we go to Jackson for other gigs.
I'm not sure where there is overnight parking as I park my bus at my house. But there is a Wal-Mart/Sams at the junction of I-40 and RT 64.
Check out Eddie's website at www.eddielsmith.com and if your trip coincides with one of our regular gigs you are welcome to drop by. My suggestion would be to come to the Friday gig at Neil's. When the weather is nice we play out on the patio from about 7pm-11pm. No cover charge and the food is good and the beer is cold.
