Bussin, 2007 is now history. We had a total of 183 registrations with 5 no shows (mostly due to health issues). With a few staying in motels, a few in motorhomes or 5th wheels and a few driving in for the day in their cars, we had 164 buses attend.
We want to thank everyone involved in making this rally such a success. This includes our sponsors: Prevost, BNO, Horizon Coach, and Converted Coaches of the Eastern Area. We cannot say enough about our volunteers. Without them this rally would not happen!!. Also, all those who did seminars and crafts, and our vendors. And of course, all those who attended.
The new venue was wonderful, except for a few problems with the electric connection in the area we called the handicap parking. The Turner Center had an electrician on site as soon as possible and although they could only repair part of the connections, they have assured us that all the handicap area will be re-wired before next year.
I also want to mention the Country Classics Band that performed on New Years Eve. The band we had scheduled cancelled on Christmas Eve. With less than 1 weeks notice this band jumped in and did a great show. We have already booked them for next year.
We collected a total of $1894 for the Daniel McMurphy fund. This includes donations from Bussin' 2007 as well as donations by individuals and 50/50 money donated by clubs and winners.
We will be making a few changes next year based on the comments we received and a few things that did not go as planned this year. The same caterers will be back with more of their delicious food (and muliple serving lines!).
We are already planning Bussin' 2008. It will be held at the Turner Center from Saturday, December 29 though Tuesday, January 1, 2008 with early arrivals OK beginning on Wednesday, December 26.
Once again, THANKS TO EVERYONE!! Jack & Paula Conrad

Jack -

Let me be the first in this thread to say that I sure had a good time!

Even with the few hiccups, it was a great rally - better than when I attended three years ago.

Didn't get a chance to put a lot of internet names to faces, but to those I did, it was great to meet you!

Do you know who that fellow was that videotaped my prattling on about following distances and night vision acuity on Sunday morning? Reason being is that I want my royalties!! LOL

Steve - Did you recover sufficiently enough to let Chris drive a little on your way home?? :-)

Bill & Brenda - the shades survived Southwest Airlines!

My thanks also to all the volunteers, obviously without whom such an event cannot take place.

Have been informed by my SO that next year I have to take her to Hawaii, but Jack, that will give you time to encourage the Turner Center to prep that extra 30 acres for Buswarrior and my Co-Pilot's School!!

Again, great job! :-) :-) :-)

Great job, Jack! The SE Bus Nuts all agree - we had about 45 coaches attend - the rally was a huge success. Can't wait till next year!

30 acres for a co-pilot driving school?

Well, that's a great thing!

Bussin' 2008 might prove to be quite the empowering adventure for those long suffering co-pilots.

RJ, Hawaii??? You can't drive there, so why in all that is holy to a busnut would she want to go there?

The rest of my advice on this matter is not fit for family and/or public consumption.

happy coaching!
