Depends what you mean by "failure". I know of 3 factory designed & built motor homes who had slideout "failures" in the first 2 or 3 years.
1. Hydraulic fluid leak inside on carpet. 2. Partial "deployment" while driving in mountains.
3. Rain water leaks damaging interior (all three units.)
And that's just 3 owners I know about. I'd guess there must be hundreds more if we took a survey!
Oh, and one failure on a million dollar Prevost that damaged the "whole bus" paint job tue to misalignment.
