Hay Pete, After one year and one month of putting it off I have the cruise connected and running great. I can't wait to get to the hills to see if it will slam the throttle to the floor. I'm still in Sebring, Fl Thanks Alan |

Pete, I think that I have run down why our Rostra cruise was kicking off whenever I would use the turn signal switch. Two things tipped me off. One, while talking with Ted Campbell about our rear lights not being very bright, he mentioned that the factory turn signal switch had a habit of causing dim lights until they were used for a while. The other thing was that while we were on our last trip, the cruise started behaving and not kicking off when I used the turn signal. I've got it doped out that the contacts are probably wiping type contacts that are tarnished and clean themselves up with repeated use. When I find some way to prove it, I'll try to remember to post it. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher Ketchikan, Alaska |

Hey Tom, Is your DD electronic or mechanical? I would like to put cruise on my mechanical cummins. Whoever made your set up might be able to help me |

Doug, Pete/RTS sells everything you need for Rostra Cruise, AFAIK. They are a lot less expensive than King Cruise but not quite as fancy. We have no problem with enough throttle pull, but our unit is slow coming on or resuming. I expect that I need to change some settings on the DIP switch, yet. However slow the unit may be turning on, it's very quick to drop out if it's supposed to. The throttle comes back with a bang. I was concerned about low speed operation but I found out that with a driveline sensor, it will hold very well at 28 mph. The unit has been kind of quirky, sometimes, but I think that what is happening is that the cruise learns as it is operating. The effect is that sometimes it will decide to resume at a lower speed if a grade has pulled the speed down too far. The cruise did not require any speed settings when we started using it; it just started working as though it knew how fast the bus was going. On the other hand, it might have been able to use the pulses per mile setting (2,000) that we set it for. We've got the mechanical DD, so it should work fine for you. Good luck. Tom I'll send you a copy of My Rostra Set-Up Switch Data Sheet I developed after talking to the technicians at Rostra - I found there original instructions somewhat confusing. The correct switch setting should help you clear up that sluggish response. There's an option that will slow the response down if you have a high horsepower engine and a very light vehicle (you don't want a hot rod burning rubber evertime it needs to adjust the speed up a little) - likewise there is a setting that will allow for faster response for heavy vehicle with lower H.P. engines Pete RTS/Daytona |

Pete, I have a Rosta on my Eagle and was confused by the dip settings. Any way I can get those revised settings from you, also? Email: daanderson7 at academicplanet.com. I sure would be greatful. David Anderson |

Pete, thanks a lot. I'll check it out. If I recall right, there was one item called setup timer. There was nothing in the materials that we received that gave us any idea what that might be. Maybe we'll get the system up to spec, yet. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher Ketchikan, Alaska |
