I work with a music studio and we have recently become the owners of a 1964 GMC 4106. we have a band that wants to use it for a tour in march.
Can I insure the bus for just 30 days or do I have to get a contract with an insurance company?
Also does anyone have Any suggestions on where to go for the best price.

Thanks.

IS it licensed as a motorhome??your insurance co. will insure motorhomes.here is a hint. DO NOT call it a band bus, that's a comercial bus.
do not advertise your band on the outside, that will require comercial tags..both are expencive

Mine is insured with Progressive as a motorhome/RV.
State minimum requirements would cost me $250 year. Full coverage woudl be just under $600.

If the band wants to use it . let them insure it. Sounds to me like if anything happened you would be liable. I would consider that being the band is using it that they should provide an acceptable insurance covereage for the tour. If you were renting a car from hertz. do you have to have some kind of coverage to cover liability. Does hertz provide this for you? I dont know the legalities here but maybe your insurance agent could help you in regards to this. Personally if I were the registered owner of a vehicle and letting someone else use it , I would want to know if they were covered by my policy or if they needed their own??
