Hi folks,

I was just surfing the Internet (yes, even I have time to do that, sometimes!) when I came across an official document pertaining to route prohibitions to 45' coaches in California.

As you probably know, last October, it became legal to drive in California in a 45' bus. However, restrictions were made as to the roads which could be used, with and without limitations.

For those viewers affected or interested, here is the link to those routes:

Ian,

Good, interesting information. If our bus was a 45' we couldn't come home!

Seriously, wouldn't want to try more than our 40'. Have driven over half of the routes mentioned and can understand the restrictions.

Highway 299 has had its restrictions dropped, but unless a driver is very experienced with twisty roads, it certainly is not a route I would advise with a 45' rig without a hinge in the middle. Drove our truck and fifth wheel (54') over it a few years back and needed to stop and pour water on the steering wheel to cool it every so often.

This would be a good piece of information for National Bus Trader or Bus Conversions.

Thanks,
Tom
