My 82 LeMirage weighed in about the same as Ron's, but my roof height accordingly to the name plate was 11'3" before the 9" roof raise!

Well Darren the engine and trans weigh about 3,000 lbs, have you seen the chassis structure around the drive and tag wheels that is some heavy steel, the front end is the same, well made and of course heavy! A tire and wheel are around 250 lbs, you keep adding all of the systems in there and it doesn't take much to add up! I'd venture a guess that the drive axle assembly alone weigh around 3,000 lbs!

My aluminum 4104 (6V92/V730, oak interior, cultured marble) fuel and water tanks full & all our toys for a Winter of traveling weighed 27,000 fully loaded. It ain't just the drive train that's heavy.

Obviously, 5' more of bus length and a tag axle would add quite a bit of weight to the '04 but the aluminum buses are thousands of pounds lighter than the steel units.

The 4106 is many hundreds of pounds lighter than the '04 even though it has a heavier engine. They made the '06 skin thinner than on the '04 when they found the '04 was over built. FWIW
