You want to post this in the Flea Market section of the board.

I suspect you will get more relevant hits if you put the words "trade" and "generator" in the subject line (at least, I assume you mean a generator and not something else).

If you are talking about a straight-across trade, though, I don't think you'll find any takers. Diesel generators cost roughly 30% more than gasoline models of similar rating, and that's new. One they're used, values of gas models fall much faster than diesels.

I'd think you'd be better off selling your gasser and buying a used diesel set, either here in the flea market or over on, ahem, one of the auction sites.

We operated both 2 and 4 stroke coaches for millions of miles and a lotta years, and not once did we find it necessary to consider putting ANYTHING in the tank except good, clean diesel. Sean is right, follow the manufacturer's guidelines and you can't go wrong. If you were to operate in Arctic conditions, it might be a consideration but what RV'ers do? Spend your money on something else, there are plenty of places on a bus to do so. Many years ago, Greyhound used to burn off some of their waste oil by putting it in the fuel tank, not to help the engine (quite to the contrary), but to cut down on fuel expense and get rid of some of the waste oil. They don't do it anymore. Gee, wonder why?
