Hey not that Iam trying to poke anyone in the eye or anything but a 6V71 turbo or a 8V71 turbo, this is not a 92 series engine . Some folks selling such stuff have misrepresented some facts at times . Personally 71 rebuild many more times than a 92 block but fuel power output of a 92 is far better . Done some conversions and mixed results . The 92 block is and has areas that are as a result of electrolis and the mains usally need work . Ive done a number of 71 blocks and the mains as well as the blocks seem not to have some of the wear You would expect . But hey they dont pass the fuel stations . Series 50 other than the balance shaft is a good one . we get aprox 750 out of them before we do anything major . They sometimes have spit out the balanace shaft and a cam here or there . but thats a whole different story . Now the cummins ICS 280 ICL 280 good power great fuel eco. Keeping pumps in them is another story but hey if you dont run a good recor or what ever water seperator what you expect ? |
