I have a 1984 Eagle 10 and the front and rear air gauges started to stop working at any moment. They gauges won't work at all and all of a sudden they will work properly. When they don't work, the fuel gauge reads incorrectly. Sometimes when I turn the bus off and on again everything works O.K. {sometimes it does not] I have cleaned the fuses but no luck so far. Any ideas would be great. Thanks. |

Wiggle wires, (no joke) from the gauges to the pressure sending units, and on the dash ground to the frame. ONE WILL BE LOOSE. I'm going to make a LARGE bet on Bob's first two words, just adding one word in front, to make it read LOOSE GROUND WIRE!!! The funny fuel gauge is the clue. (They all have to be grounded, and when not, one tries to back up through the other...) |

I was hunting for the ground wires and have wiggled many wires but have not found the correct one yet. I pulled the dash and pulled on those wires with no result. Anyone know where I would find the sending units for these gauges? Keep the ideas coming. Thannks. |

Bob's right again, you've got a high resistance ground somewhere. Find the dash ground wire to the frame, and take off the nuts holding it on the stud. Clean the terminals, and retighten. All the gauges have to ground properly to work, and as soon as you mentioned the fuel gauge not working properly at the same time, this is a dead giveaway of an open-high resistance-or intermittent ground. Otherwise the fuel gauge wouldn't act funny, and why would both air gauges go wrong at the same time? HTH, George |

Check main chassis gnd connection at the battery connection also in your control panel check the grounds there! IF you have to take the main ground wire loose at each connection and clean them up and retighten them! Pat |

Thanks for the ideas. I will start hunting down ground wires and connections. I will let you know the results. |
