Harpsters canopies in Phillipsburg, Pa. On internet.....they can make HD silver to your size. Some of the companies that make tarps for dump trucks can make custom sizes of very heavy duty material. OR you could get the best silver tarp that Harbor Freight sells in the closest size, buy their grommet kit and then modify it yourself. |

I would have a framework made about 7 foot x 20 foot(built with one inch square tubeing ) & have the heavy tarp material that flatbeds use ,stretched tight and permanently affixed,....have it to fit the railing on the platform, AND...have it where you could raise it to 6 feet ...for an upstairs pourch,......in the down position it would be a storage area about two feet tall You sure don't want BLACK,you could boil water under there...either white or silver (Message edited by bob greenwood on February 13, 2007) (Message edited by bob greenwood on February 13, 2007) |

Thank you for writing what i couldnt cause i dont know specifics for manufacturing this stuff, but i have good ideas :o) thank you a LOT!!! ( great minds think alike) |

Do you have other things up there now like AC or a fridge vent or holding tank vent that you should not cover? I always try to avoid holes anywhere in the body, specially the roof. Leaks can be a real pain. Can you live with the added height? After many years of dealing with canvas on various boats, I do everything I can to avoid it. Constant exposure to sun, weather, and road speed+ winds is a tough environment to survive. I think you would want the cover to seal the entire rack or it needs a solid floor so wind can not get under the cover. I would not use any color other than white. Silver can be very hot. I would not put snaps on the body. They will work loose and leak. If you use Bob's idea of a folding rack to porch, maybe a fixed roof of something other than cloth. Maybe just an aluminum top painted white. Would be much easier to maintain. A few folding chairs and folding table and you would be set. All that stuff aside, I think sitting up on top with a cool one under an umbrella/top would be way cool sometimes. Just don't know how much longer I will be able to climb up and down like that!!! |

If you are able to stand on the roof, I see no need for a urinal, just a wind direction sock. |
