Got the jake brakes on and working. Had to customize my lower valve cover, put it in my milling machine, cut off approximately an inch, and heli-arc a new top on it. I had some aluminum step plate, so that's what I used. :-) Clears the engine cover fine and no leaks!

That engine is going to give you trouble unless you change it back to green or silver. Detroits are great engines but are sensitive to being painted designer colors.:-) If it's not a Detroit, then never mind. Nice workmanship BTW.

Hey guys: my wife picked the color. Obviously, she knows nothing about Detroit Diesels. ;) I hope the designer color gods will continue to let my engine run rather than strike me down!

I seem to be running out of things to fix. I guess it's time to go camping. :-)
