At/near which of the filters is the location for priming the 6V92 fuel system. My '83 has about 8 filters on the engine from one end to the other. A couple I'm sure are trans related, and to juice it up there are a few schrader type valves in various places, some near the filters. One seemed to ooze motor oil when I removed its innards. |

without knowing exactly what you have, here is a basic fuel system.... fuel tank... check valve... water separator... primary fuel filter... fuel transferr pump.... secondary fuel filter... fuel rail(galleries) in each head... injector..... all of this is connected by hoses or steel lines.... the secondary filter is where you want to hook up some sort of priming system....it will have 1 hose/line coming into it and 2 lines leaving, going directly to each head..... be careful of how much pressure you apply as seals can be blown in the transferr pump if you get too much.....some people use a modified garden sprayer....or hook up an dc electric fuel pump... parallel to the existing transferr pump....you can take the return line off the head and watch for fuel to be returned....if the engine continues to lose prime, search for leaks..... any line/filter prior to the transferr pump is suction... and after it is pressure.....good luck...jim |
