me too. i took my bus to the DD dealer for a lube and they filled my 6v92TA w/ straight 40 wt Rotella T. the only synthetic they used was Transynd in my HT-740. if the Detroit dealer doesnt use it, i wouldnt. FWIW.... kyle in norcal |

USE ONLY 40 WT CF-2 in a 2 stroke detroit maybe 30 wt in real cold weather period end of statement but use synthetic in tranny and diff |

Doyle I know of a case where 0/50 synthetic was used in a 8v71 and he got all of 2 blocks when the engine seized. The answer is NEVER!. Joe. |

Doyle, What all these posts mean is never use multi-grade in a DD. Also, use only CF-2 rated oil (This is written on the rear of the label) Most will say CF-4 which is for most other diesels except 2-Stroke DDs. |

Seems like the CF-2 40wt is very much a vainishing breed; but for anyone traveling along IH10 through El Paso, Canyon State Oil is the jobber and they'll fix you up with Rotella T 40 wt. in a 5 gal pail for $51.29+tax. Easy on and off but check your gps. Call Benjamin at (915) 775-3525. |

anybody use straight 30 w in 8v71 or is it just me? use in engine and 4 spd oem manual trans per manual...live in cincinnati, and do most driving in warm weather in ohio, ky and indiana..all advice and comments welcomed |
