Fearless Flying in the Eagle!

Well, I guess I should check the grounds better. (It had rained previously)
I found the soft spot. Sunk her to the frame.

My friends stuck with me as we proceeded to jack and block as I had done before. (key word )(Done), sorry friends) I owe Mike a $100. Something $$$$ air jack that I ruined while we tried to jack our bus out.

Anyway, do not start down the road of blocking and jacking, unless you have hours to spend.

We went down That road and still came up short. Dog Gone.It

Well all is well, 1 call to our local tow company (Carey’s Inc. RT 13 Laurel DE 19956 302-875-5674) and we were back on solid ground.

6’ back is all we needed to be winched. (really only 3’) Soft waterlogged ground and 30,000. # vehicles do not mix.

If you come to Bruce’s for the next gathering I will Have to show you where NOT to park. Plenty of other places, But OH NO I had to find the OLD Stump Hole.

How ABought That for an Excuse.

I am sure I saw a couple of grins and flashes, and we will be graced with some pictures. (ok Ross post them)

OK if I had not went cowboy out in the field I would not have been stuck.

Ok no one got hurt.

Please Show your stuck experience so I do not feel so bad.

Bill

Message from my father about coaches on soft ground....Don't try to spin your way out!! The coaches have a nasty habbit of dropping straight down to axle, instead of moving forward. Plank it out. Usually one lesson about this is enough to not have it happen again. The problem, I think stems from-" Let's see...engine directly over the drive axle...this baby can go through ANYTHING!!! HA-sucker.

While were on the subject, I see pictures of buses parked on beaches. I'm not sure I could be that brave. I've driven on daytona beach, and I just cant imagine taking a 30 thousand pound vehicle out there. How is it possible???????

Steve, you need one of my magic tow lines that was discussed several months ago. I used to go to Glamis and park in the sand all the time.

Hey Bill, is that a snow plow on the front of your bus? We got stuck half way into a driveway in Fla with the backass sticking out onto the county road because the reverse solonoid fell off!Dinahmoe dave&dori

Yep. Several times. Also a few times at Pismo. My son in his 3/4 ton 4X4 pickup got me out every time. Also many other people in motor homes, some with toy trailers attached. I will see if I can find the posts previously made. Think it was on the other board.
Richard

Here it is on the MAC board:

http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=2484.0

I would recommend two 60 ft lenghts that would end up about 50 ft. each with the eyes woven in.

I had already tried it on Google and on IE and it worked both places. I just now added a new post and link on the MAK board. You can try that or do a search for tow rope on the MAK board.

Okay, I have one. We were in our Eagle 10 with a full potty...overflowing and no Flying J's around for miles. So, I did the enviro killer and pulled over to dump it in the grass. Went to drive off and we were stuck in mud! Almost had to tow it, but didn't want to get slapped with a huge fine for dumping. 30 min of rocking it back and forth, and we were barely on our way. I never dump it in the grass anymore...
