I posted the wrong serial number. My bad! the correct number is PD4903-149. Also, is it better to drive with retractable wheel down or up. My other bus did not have this set up, and even around the Davis mountains, i did not have much sway.

Some leave them down, except when making sharp turns at low speed. Some take the tires off and never use them. You would be better to leave the whole retractable wheel setup at home, and have another useable baggage compartment. Most later ones didn't have the retractable wheel option on them. Some states use to have weight restrictions that required them. Unless your coach is very heavy, I'd get rid of it when it needs repairs or if you could make better use the space it takes up.Those extra tires are a different size, 15 inch? so they won't even be good as a spare. Some will say that the extra braking is useful, but a jake brake would be better. The extra axle gives more drag, slightly less fuel mileage,a lot of space taken up, toll increase on some roads with them down, extra weight. Maybe, this isn't what you wanted to know in your post, but It's just my opinion, I thought I'd pass on. BTW, I think that there were some MCI's with only 2 axles. Don't know if any of our busnuts have one, and how they like them.
