Try looking in the engine compartment, lower right side in the door frame. It is stamped on the square tubing.It is on mine anyway.

I might be able to help if your coach is a 1981 or newer.
The 1st position is country of origin.
The 2nd is manufacture.
The 3rd is vehicle type. (Car, truck, bus)
The 4th is a check # and or signifies is vehicle is equipped with air bags.
The 5th 6th and 7th are used for model designation.
The 8th is engine.
The 9th is a check digit.
The 10th is year of manufacture.
The 11th is plant of manufacture.
The 12th through 17th are manufacture positions for vehicle options.

The codes for year of manufacture are
1980=A
1981=B
1982=C
1983=D and so on with the exception that I,O,U and Z are never used.

Now there is a formula to assign numbers for letters and using the check digits to verify if the VIN has been altered. The code is secret secret and only given to DVM employees and certified third party examiners.

I do not know when Eagle started using the now standard 17 digit VIN, but my 1980 has only a five digit VIN.
