Dutch - On my 4106, the charging system doesn't kick in until there's at least 60 psi in the air system. Not sure why, since the alternator's gear driven. I think it had to do with the clutch mechanism for the A/C. The OEM voltage regulator is on the rear wall of the rear baggage compartment. There is a relay in the electrical compartment behind the RR wheel. Sometimes the contacts get a little dirty and they need to be cleaned. Use a "points file" - one of those little files we used to use to clean the points in a distributor back before electronic ignitions. Make sure you disconnect the batteries before doing this, or sparks will fly!! FWIW & HTH. . .
