He fellow busnuts

My taillights are no to bright,they all work perfectly but not as bright as I would like them to be.
Should I :
Clean the covers??
Rerplace the bulbs with stronger ones?
Clean the contacts where the lights fit it?
Clean/replace the wires,
Get a new battery???

O..... The front lights are litterly blindingly bright and the front turnsignals to.
Thanks for any and all advises

A friend had the same problem with his Eagle. He added relays in the rear of the bus, picking up power directly from the batteries. The wires from the switches was used to control the relays. Seems that he was getting to much voltage drop at the bulbs. This made his rear lights much brighter. You might to aalso check the grounds on ALL the rear lights, a bad ground can cause this problem. hey dutch, what kind of unit do u drive? but however first checkall the grounds on the lights and clean terminals then clean both lens and fixture,I sprayed aluminumpaint on some and they worked better.

Dutch,

Check the voltage at the battery then check the voltage at the tail light with the lights on. If it's not within a half volt then you have a voltage drop problem. Could be bad ground, dirty contacts, loose connections etc. etc.. If the voltage is close then try new bulbs.

Dutch, an easy way to test the grounds is with a piece of wire and two vise grips. Clamp one end of the wire to a bare spot on the engine door and the other to the chassis. Our 4107 has the tail lights and ground from the engine cover going through a molex type plug. Can be a source for a bad connection. On our trip home with the coach, when it got dark and I turned on the lights they were flashing like crazy until I used the vise grip trick.

When we were shopping for a coach, noticed several 06's with problems on the bulkhead connectors that go from the rear wire compartment to engine compartment.

A nut driver check of every nut in the drivers wire compartment and the rear one is a good idea too.

I like the suggestion of putting relays in to carry the rear lights too. Could be a good thing for wiring up a toad/trailer too.

Dutch, after I put in relays to control all the rear lights, I then lined each of the reflectors with shiny aluminum tape like A/C people use for duct work. Dont worry about the creases or wrinkles in the tape.
It was really unbelievable the difference the tape made in the brilliance of the lamps. Try it, I guarantee that you will like it.

I used the aluminum tape idea and it works great. It is so much brighter with the AC tape on it. It cost less than $ 5.00.

When I added the tailer connector, using a passive adaptor, it did not work. Discovered low voltage to the stop lamps. Added a relay with power from the battery, and BAM, huge difference in brightness.

I dont know if your bus is 12 or 24 volt? If 12 volt it is possible that you have 24 volt bulbs installed.
