Hi Everyone,
My friend Dreamweaver is on his way back from Arizona and his transmission has given up the ghost on the side of the highway.
1970 MC7 with 4 speed Spicer.
Is there anyone near him that can help?
He is in Biggs Oregon Just East of Hood River and The Dalles
If there is anyone with a used 4 speed anywhere near him please let me know asap.
He would like to buy a replacement in decent condition
He is looking for a place close by where he can switch out transmissions nearby.
Please let me know so I can relay to Dave.
Any help would be appreciated
thanks in advance
Harry

Harry, I suggest you call Bart Grabhorn in Scappose Ore. He's a used bus dealer with alot of experience. 503-543-6407 E mail busbart@comcast.net `Whats wrong with Dreamweavers tranny? It's not just stuck in 2 gears is it? Steve at Riggs Diesel in Auburn is a bus tranny specialist, he does automatics mostly but he may have a changeover laying around or know who does, 253-833-6307. Call me if I can help. Larry 253-350-0925

I have a Spicer 1062B 6 speed transmission and clutch pack for sale for $500.00, located in The Dalles. From an MC-9. Both are in excellent condition and would make a huge improvement over the 8844A 4 speed. However, it is necessary to replace the #2 flywheel housing with an SAE #1 flywheel housing, change the shifter and linkage, and perhaps modify the driveline length. All very do-able. Dave at Southern Oregon Diesel would be a good bet to do the swap and probably has a used flywheel housing laying around. Or you could try Fehr Diesel in Redmond, OR, which would be a closer tow. They work exclusively on buses and converted coaches. Steve Palmer at Steve's towing in The Dalles is a good guy with a KW tow truck, his number is 541-980-3860. Those are gonna be your closest competent mechanics to convert to the 6 speed or Allison automatic. Don't know if anyone around here has a serviceable 4 speed for sale. Hope this helps. My email is mark@airspd.net.
