Most uhaul shops and or muffler shops will weld it if you have it with you . uhaul sells hitches, and probably have one they could cut to fit your coach, Look in the yellow pages in those towns, under trailer hitches or towing, that should be the easiest thing you could find to get done on the road, good luck in your search, AND if you make it to florida Ace would go out of his way to help another busnut,

This is a little off topic, but has anyone install a 10k hitch on their MCI bus. While in Quartzsite, ran across a fellow busnut from Canada and he mentioned that he had to reinforce the frame/cradle area of his MC8 in order to tow his 16' or 18' enclosed trailer. I have a hitch that I use for the little toad (2400 lbs), which won't probably handle the weight of a large trailer. Our tentative plan was to tow a trailer (14' or 16') down next year. Any comment appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

Tom, what motor do you have in that 5c? I have a 6V71 auto. I personally would not want to tow a large trailer with it. Not saying it cant be done, just I would not do it.

James,
My 5a has been repowered with a 6V92TA and Allison 5 speed automatic. I think the HP rating is around 318, which puts it close to the 8v71 the guy from Canada had in his MC8. I've seen other buses towing trailers but don't have any first hand knowledge on what it takes to do so safely.

Tom
