RJ-

Could you tell me the history of 4104-1872? I am looking at buying it and it looks real clean, I mean REAL clean. So I was curious as to what part of the country it came from.

Thanks,
Ray

Public Service Coordinated Transport
I think that is in New Jersey.
It was built in 1956.

Thanks John. I appreciate your help. I do have a question, though. What is Public Service Coordinated Transport? Was it a private co.? Sounds like a government funded business, like CTA or RTA.

Thanks again!

I am not sure on it's origin might have been NJ Transit.

Hi Ray:
Public Service Coordinated Transport was the statewide predecessor company of New Jersey Transit (Transport of N.J.).
It was owned by Public Service Electric & Gas Co and was probably the largest "utility owned" transit system left in the country before becoming a public entity.
It grew from a statewide trolley system to a statewide bus system over the years. In the early years they built their own bus bodies which they would install on new chassis. At one time they operated "All service vehicles", which could run on trolley wires or off the wires as a bus with gas or diesel engines. Their maintenance was excellent which has carried over to N.J. Transit.
I Hope this HELPS!!! & Thanks for listening.
