Several years ago I had a Ricon Mirage wheelchair lift installed in an MC-9 by Complete Coach Works, Riverside, CA. The cost was $22,000, more than the bus was worth. But the customer was a transit district with a Federal ADA grant (your tax dollars), so they had no trouble blowing the money. CCW has retrofitted many coaches with lifts, including for Greyhound. |

Rick and Pat. You might also consider a “person lift”. An example can be seen at: http://coachlift.com/rv-lifts.htm We saw such a system a few years ago and it seemed to work well. It looks like an overgrown electric tag trailer tongue lift with a seat mounted on it. It was mounted with no modification to the motorhome that I could see. Thanks everyone for your info. I think we have it narrowed down. We just have to cut another hole in the side of the bus. We got a lift right in our home town off craigs list. It is out of 87 MCI. We really never thought we could afford one. We can't afford to have someone do it. So we just want to make sure we don't mess something up being most of the bus is already done and we are using it. Deisel prices we won't make it to far this year. To the beach fishing. We just fishing restoring a dory boat. I guess if you can build a bus and restore a dory we should be able to put the lift in for our daughter. She was so thrilled when we found the lift. Carring up the steps has been hard the last 2 years. We let you know when it gets done. Maybe not till after Labor Day weekend after fishing season. Thanks Rick and Pat |
