does the ride height make a difference in the ride. I think the PO set mine real high. I haven't taken the measurements yet but it does ride hard in the front. My air beams are still intact in the front.

Yes, it will ride rougher; as there is more air pressure in the bags, just like too much air in tires.Sometimes people set them high for more stability going down the road, also setting the air pressure in tires high for similar reasons. How mush air pressure in your front tires? Manual or power steering? What is your caster degrees? Sometimes people do the former to stop the wandering due to negative caster.

If you don't have radial tires in front the ride will be rougher also.

When I changed my 4104 to radials it made a huge difference even though the radial tire pressure was much higher.
