A friend is deciding tonight or tomorrow forenoon whether to buy a 4104. I want to look up the vin number for him so he knows where it was delivered to and put in service. I cannot locate the web site that has that info. Can any of you help?

Captain Ron -

I have the same list that JLVickers has. Hard copy, not electronic. In my case, it's in a three-ring binder in the bookcase next to my desk. I suspect his is in a similar location.

IIRC, the source for our lists was Fred Rayman, not sure where he got it, perhaps from the Motor Bus Society. This Fred doesn't play on a computer, doesn't even own one - snail mail or landline only.

The list that JLV and I have also gives the month and year of delivery, not just the year like the online delivery list.

FWIW & HTH. . .

:-)

RJ,
Is there any way you could scan your hard copy and post it?

If you don't have a scanner then maybe your local Kinkos would do it for you.

Austin -

Just use the link Fred provided above, as it has most of the same info.

It would take hours for me to scan it (I do have a scanner), and I'm not willing to let Kinko's botch it , as they have done numerous times with other projects of mine.

Since I rarely use it anymore (fewer and fewer GMCs being converted), I'm not willing to spend the time/money to do so right now. Too many other projects of higher priority around here.

Maybe after I retire. . .

Mine doesn't come up on the list.
(PDY1044971)
I did have someone tell me that it was sold to Great Southern Coaches in Jonesboro Ar in July of 1960.

I think that would make it one of the last 4104's built by GMC as the production numbers were only into the 5K's.

If you don't use the book very much anymore, and are willing to part with it for a short time I could scan it like I did my maint manual. (410 pages)
I would then send it back to you. (including CD with PDF of the book)

.
