My engine is a DDEC2 350HP 6v92. It currently has a Garrett TV-7512 with an A/R of .75. When I called Detroit Diesel and gave them my Engine Serial Number they told me the engine should have the TV-7512 with an A/R of 1.08. So I am wondering why my turbo is different and what effect the A/R difference would make on my engine. I know the lower A/R is quicker spool up, but does the maximum boost change accorind to the A/R? Thanks

Joe--

The A/R of .75 is on the aluminum intake horn, the exhaust side is the one that is going to be 1.08 (or ?), and that is the side they use to size the turbo A/R. As usual the parts guys at Detroit don't know enough to tell you what to look for.

One turbo is pre smog . They came out in th later years with different pistons and change up the turbo for the emmission targets > we changed up all of our motors with somg leagal stuff ,cams pistons and tubo and I do belive the AR changed on the turbo housings > Ido belive the boost went up and the copression went down
